About visa:

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is responsible for the selection of economic immigrants according to criteria developed by Manitoba that are consistent with the provisions of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Canada-Manitoba Immigration Agreement.

Through this program, prospective immigrants with skills and experience targeted by the province may receive a Manitoba Provincial Nomination Certificate, which speeds up the overall immigration process.

There are two streams through which the province and potential candidates may immigrate to Manitoba, both through Express Entry and outside Express Entry:

  • Skilled Worker Immigration Stream - including those in Manitoba and Overseas
  • Business Investor Immigration Stream

Workers selected for long-term employability:

The MPNP selects skilled workers according to their ability to economically establish, to make a long-term contribution to the Manitoba labour market and to demonstrate their bona fide intention to settle as permanent residents in our province. Skilled workers apply via two paths:

  • Applicants Currently Working in Manitoba, and
  • Overseas Applicants who can:
  • Applicants have the same benefits as those of a Federal Skilled worker holder.
    1. demonstrate their adaptability to Manitoba through strong connections, a viable settlement plan and sufficient, independent financial resource, and
    2. Be assessed sufficient points for age, education and training, work experience, and language abilities.
MPNP for Skilled Workers:

The MPNP for Skilled Workers is locally driven and based on the needs of Manitoba employers. We select internationally trained and experienced workers who have the skills needed in the local labour market, and nominate them to receive Canadian permanent resident visas to settle and work in Manitoba.MPNP for Business.

MPNP for Skilled Workers:

The Province of Manitoba and Government of Canada share responsibilities regarding business people immigrating to Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program for Business.

The Provincial Nominee Program for Business allows Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business people from around the world who have the intent and ability to move to Manitoba and establish, purchase a business or become partners in an existing business.

The Provincial Nominee Program for Business accelerates the immigration process by providing a Nomination Certificate to you which allows for faster processing by the Government of Canada of your immigration application. The Province of Manitoba is committed to help you and your family settle successfully, identify business opportunities and establish your business or farm in the province.

Located between the provinces of Ontario and Saskatchewan, the province of Manitoba is in many ways the gateway to western Canada.

Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program allows skilled immigrants and their families to come to Manitoba to work and settle there.

Manitoba PNP enables applicant to:

  • Settle in Manitoba with permanent residency.
  • Access to government-subsidized health care benefits, free education and other social benefits.
  • Successful applicants can work, study or invest in a business in Manitoba, Canada.
  • Manitoba PNP encourages family immigration(Spouse and Dependent Immigration).

Requirements for the Manitoba PNP:

Applicants who are currently working in Manitoba or who intend to migrate to Manitoba are eligible for Manitoba PNP.

  • Currently working in Manitoba:

Applications are accepted from temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who have been working in the province full-time for at least 6 months.

  • Skilled workers overseas:

Applications from foreign skilled workers are decided on various factors, including employability and adaptability. This is a points based immigration system which awards points to factors like age, English proficiency, work experience, education and Connection to Manitoba*.

*Connection to Manitoba: Applicant's connection to the Manitoba community through Family or friends, or past education or employment experience, or an invitation to apply from the MPNP.
